Virat Kohli to Feature in Ranji Trophy Match for Delhi Against Railways

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is set to make a rare appearance in domestic cricket by playing for Delhi in their last Ranji Trophy league match against Railways. This match, scheduled to begin on January 30 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, will mark Kohli’s first Ranji Trophy game since November 2012.

The decision comes shortly after the BCCI introduced new guidelines mandating contracted players to participate in domestic tournaments to remain eligible for national selection. Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) President Rohan Jaitley confirmed Kohli’s availability for the crucial fixture.

Delhi is currently in a tight race for a knockout spot in Group D, sitting fourth behind Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh, and Railways. With Tamil Nadu set to face Chandigarh in the sixth round, Delhi’s hopes of advancing hinge on securing points against Saurashtra before their must-win clash with Railways.

This development is expected to provide a significant boost to Delhi’s campaign, as Kohli’s presence brings experience and leadership to the squad during a critical phase of the tournament.
